The idea of MS Bristol is to bring together the current 7 Charities in the Bristol/Bath area which provide some excellent services to those with MS.

The website is not only an information point for those with MS and their families, but also for health professionals in the area. They can encourage their MS patients, especially newly diagnosed, to see that there is an amazing network of people in Bristol/Bath who can help with this ridiculous disease - and help them to cope with all the rubbish that goes with it.

My name is Samantha Massey and I have had MS for 13 years and have recently moved back to the Bristol area. I have been working with some of the MS Charities in the area - initially helping fundraise for Nailsea Therapy centre (did the zip slide!) and then started helping at MS Research, Training and Education.

I came across Shaun McCarthy - another MS-er who is currently fundraiser for BrAMS - through the MS Research Unit at the General. He and I met and started to discuss setting up an "MS Bristol" web site where ALL MS Charities within the Bristol area could come together to offer their services to people with MS, as well as offer information to GPs and other health professionals.

Finally, the third man, Mark Whitehouse - an MS-er of 14 years - gave us the icing on the cake by designing this excellent website!

All of the services form a CENTRAL INFORMATION POINT for someone who has MS and provides information about most of the MS charities in the Bristol/Bath area - all of which, have something to offer!
Try them out! Most are free and you will meet some excellent, positive and pro-active people along the way!

TAKE CARE!
